Being Flabbergasted
I've just been informed that one of my stories from last year's [info]lgbtfest , Being Liquid, was nominated for the Hourglass Awards in the Best Gen Fic category.  I'm not too familiar with these awards, or award sites in general, but I'm completely flattered nonetheless.  And after glancing at some of the other amazing authors and fics that have been nominated, I think I've actually gone past flattered to flabbergasted.  Haha.

At first I was a little confused as to why it was nominated in the Gen category since the story features a prominent, central relationship.  But looking at the other options, I suppose it doesn't quite fall into het or slash, does it?  I'm guessing that was the logic behind labeling it gen.  Hey, works for me.

I don't really expect anything to come of this, which is totally fine.  Being nominated is pretty damn exciting in itself.  This is the first writing award I've been up for, and at the moment it's making me all warm and fuzzy inside, ha.  Thank you so much to whoever took the time to put my name in!

LOL! I know, isn't that fantastic? And I don't even want to think about what I would have done without all of your help!

*officially shares the nomination*

*looks at the author* Oh yeah, because that wasn't your idea? *shares the nomination regardless* Because I remember draft one. (Actually, it lurks on my external hard drive still. I run across it every once and a while and wonder if I have enough alcohol to touch it again.)

Haha, oh no! Delete it, erase the evidence! What can I say? I was young and naive and in need of a good beta.

*snicker* It makes good blackmail material! And it amuses me to remember the first time I sent it to Kia and Kia emailed me back going, "I'm concerned here..."

And now, we barely edit the first draft, much less the last draft. By the way, I'm traveling on Monday so I'm hoping to get to your to-do list then.

Thanks! It's probably my most popular story. I'm glad you liked it too.

As for new writing, I have a few very random things in the works, but not much time for actually writing it. You know how it is. :)
